Default Blue noise chunks?

Has anyone heard of 'blue noise chunks'? I was on another site downloading freeware digital camera utilities and in one of the descriptions, it talked about these blue noise chunks that appear in pictures, usually dark ones. The site has a utility called HOT PIXEL ELIMINATOR and it maintains this will remove these artefacts from your pictures. Maybe this is what I am getting on my A40 pictures rather than dead pixels.

Haven't heard of blue chunks. But for the status of your camera's dead (black: 0) or hot (white: 255) pixels, you should run the free test found at http://www.starzen.com/imaging/deadpixeltest.htm
My FinePix 2800 is clean; my FinePix 2300 has one pixel that is about half way (value: 141 out of 255 ). My old 1300 had about 7 that registered all the way up to 250.

Thanks MentorRon, I'll give that a try.
