I think You should choose Canon A40.
I have got Olympus C 220 and it makes problems with too slow shuter by flash using. It makes always 1/30 by ISO 80 and the picture is shaken - You now what I mine

Sorry for my English

A Ridge,
Olympus has just released its 550 to replace the 520, Might want to give it a look in Steves reviews. 550 has more options than 520 included being 3 meg. The C-220 was a good cam in its day, but that was in the 1900's. If its the D series thats the current budget line.

Thank You.
The weather is quite good - 25 oC - and after fiew pictures that I made with Olympus D 550, I think it is a very good budget camera, and very nice at all.

Since slowest shutter speed of D550 is only 1/2 sec., is it possible to take a night shot. The slowest shutter speed of A40 is 15 seconds. Or, is there any other method for taking night shots.

Hello Mitelo, be assured that your English is much better than my Polish !

My girlfriend and I are flying to Warsaw on 8 Sepember for a 2 week stay . . . the Canon A40 is not easy to find here in the UK, in stock at a good price, between now and then!

Do you know the best expected price for the A40 in stock in the City (with 32 mb flash card)? Any information on this subject would be most gratefully received.

My girlfriend is from Poland but is 50km away from me at the time of my submitting this !!

Kind regards

Jack

Default Canon A40

I reviewed so many, including the Oly 520, before buying the Canon A40. In fact, I bought it, with the salesman's recommendation, over the Sony P71, a $100 highre camera. I love the Canon, for what this is worth. Luck.
