Has anyone else been waiting for an upgrade to the Canon S70? I read on another forum (dpreview.com in Canon Talk) that Canon should be releasing news about the ? S80 anytime and is overdue. If anyone hears anything I'd love to know. For now, I'll have to fantasize:

7 - 8 megapixels

2.5 LCD w/ 230,000 pixels

27mm - 140mm (4-5x)

Viewfinder that covers 100%

300 -500 shots per charge (If Fuji can do it w/ the F10, why not Canon?

MPEG-4 Movie Mode

SD Memory Card w/ no limit

Even more compact size - like the SD500

Care to add to the list anyone?

I'd give up some LCD size for compactness and toughness.

OK, but the Kodak v550 has a 2.5 LCD (230,000 mps.) and is very compact and sturdy; ditto for the Casio Z750 which sports a 2.7 LCD. So I'm not quite ready to surrender LCD size just yet. We'll see what Canon does. I only hope that they're quick about it. After all, the S70 was released last year and we are well into 2005. :|
