I just purchased my Canon S2 from amazon and noticed that the box did not have a canon seal (like sony seals on their packages) on it that guarantees anew package. I think my package is an open item since it did not have the seal. Did anyone else have a seal on their Canon S2 package when they bought theirs online?

Received my S2IS two days ago from BUYDIG.COM. It was not sealed, nor was there any indication there ever was a seal on it. Paid $462.00 for it and $189 for a 2G Sandisk Ultra II card. No tax or shipping charges. The paperwork in the box was all in a sealed plastic bag. They did screw up and send a CF card instead of the SD card even though the paperwork said a SD card. Waiting for the replacement.

New Canon camera boxes are not factory-sealed.

Unless you have any other reason to believe the camera is used, the box is NO indication whatsoever.

If it was purchased from a reliable dealer, looks unused, has all the parts listed in the manifest, and comes with a valid warranty for your country, who cares if the box has a seal? A seal might be a nice marketing ploy, but would not stop lowlife dealers from taking advantage.
