Any idea where to get the samples?

Canon official websites only provide images but not video.

I am wondering if the hi-res, can compensate for the slower frame rate of 15fps.

Sorry, self-answering. Just found it under:

My hypothesis is right (at least for my foolish eyes).

I am so attracted by the hi-res details and forget about the slightly slower frame rate.

I think good for family video (unless you have a 100meter record breaking runner in your family).

But the problems may surface when fast movement e.g. football games or car racing.

I wonder if the price of the S70 will fall with the introduction of the S80?

So how do you compare S80 vs S70?

I know they'e withdrawn the RAW format from S80

And that S80 as captioned can take 1024x768 movies.

And SD vs CF.

Interesting video at 1024 - first to see that res on a camera. Dang, that chick in the video is just about having a nervous breakdown over those cards. LOL

So do you feel her "nerve" pulses are more relieved down at 15fps vs 30fps?
