Hi,

I'm just trying to use my S2 and my lappy for remote capture. I have the beta version of PSRemote which is OK. But I have 2 questions.

1) what is the best stand alone software to use for remote capture with the S2
2) can I have live viewfinder images on the lappy prior to taking the shot.

cheers,

dave

Here is a 3rd party solution that is designed to work with the S1 IS to provide similar functionality to Canon's software (live preview of viewfinder display, remote control of some camera operations, etc.):

Some of the Canon models reviewed here included a software section that reviewed some of it's functionality. Here is an example (Canon G6 review):

Thanks jim,

I tried the PSremote app. beta version 1.5 beta2 but couldn't get the live viewfinder to work. Might have been me. I'll check again.

I also downloaded Canon Remote Capture 2.7.5 (free) which does the live preview ok. The GUI is a bit rough but it seems to work.

thanks,

dave

Does remote capture support movie recording to the the computer's hard drive instead of the mem card?
