I am interested in the S80, and since there are no reviews available yet, would someone who has purchased and used this model comment about:

Image quality - Are the photos sharp, clear with accurate color?
Low light capability - How are these shots, especially indoors?
Battery life - How many shots per charge?

Thanks

prev owned 2mp elf, 4mp elf, 5mpelf s70, sd400

presently owe D70, Coolpix 8800 and S80

so far batt life is good, purchased two 1000ma batt for $4.98 plus shipping,

don't travel with out extra batt. My rule is one in the camera, one in the pocket and one in the charger.

I got some really great helicopter shots using full manual settings. Hand held

I did make a vinal plastic cover for the display, control place ment is very good especially the function knob. Flash is not wonderfull, but that goes for any camera you can put in a shirt pocket,,,speaking from experience. Phota are great...

with 8mp you can keep the digital zoom off "which is a good idea on any camera" and use croping to zoom. If the build is a good as the s70 its a great package.

Shot 2500 pics in IRAN 115 degrees of heat..just kept going and going, expect the same from the s80

I've read in another forum that the lcd screen on the S80 is very noisy & that makes it difficult to see any details! Have you found this to be true?

Yes the LCD is not wonderfull, however it seems that is the case withall of the 2.5 inch LCDsno matter what brand of camera, have the same issue, would not be surprized it all the 2.5 LCDs came from the same manufactor. With that I mind I have take over 2000 pics with the camera. I am verrrry pleased with the results. Manual setting are great and . easy to use.
Had a s70 before , this camera is much easier to controal with out diggin into menus, the is an assignable button on the back upper left ...verrrrrry handy
