Default IS Canon EOS D60 DEAD?

I mentioned on another forum that I was considering purchasing a Canon EOS D60 and someone commented that they had quit making it and it was going to be replaced with another model. Has anyone heard this? If this is true, when will the new model be out and what will it be named? With the ratings the D60 got I can't believe they would dump it. Also, I noticed the prices haven't dropped which they usually do when they are dropping a model.

Thanks for any information.

Hopefully, the Canon D90 will be the same price.

So far, I read that it has an 8 megapixel sensor - better than the Canon D60's 6 megapixels! It may also be based on the EOS 3 body rather than the D60's Elan base. This may mean that autofocus may finally be faster (instead of the universally acknowledged slow autofocus at lower light levels in the D60 - its greatest fault), and we may finally get a spotmeter.

I'm holding off on purchasing either the D60. I'm going to compare the D90 to the Fujifilm S2 Pro (which has the equivalent of 9 megapixels in resolution).

yes, the D60 is Dead............all D60's will be zapped by satellite on the day they announce it's replacement............D60 owners will have to upgrade.

the D60 is already better than most users. shortcomings are AF in lowlight, and the fact that Nikon owners despise it......

With PMA taking place in the first week of March, you can expect to hear about an unveiling at that time.

I know that alot of companys are already sold out of the D60, I am looking forward to the new model.

 I was quite surprised to find that the D60s will be lasered to death by satellites on the arrival of the new model. (Thanks for the )
