Has anyone found a decent converter or knows of a few tricks that will convert the S2 IS 30 frame/s video to a decent 25 frame/s video suitable for displaying on PAL (Europe) DVD's/ TV's ?:?

Cheers

Maybe what you are looking for is on page 80 of the S2 IS manual. Select NTSC or PAL video out.
It is part of the setup menu. If you ahve already removed the files from the camera, then that may be a new problem for you. Interested in knowing your final solution.

The NTSC/PAL setup choice of the camera is only for replay with the camera.

It is possible to convert 30 fps video down to 25 fps by dropping or blending frames or fields. More sophisticated methods use frame interpolation. All this can be achieved with Avisynth (go to the doom9 forum). However, I do not recommend such a conversion. Rather I would recommend to convert the 30 fps mjpeg avi to a 30 fps DivX avi. Any decent DVD player can play back such an avi smoothly on a PAL TV, because the more recent PAL TVs all support PAL60 (PAL with 30 fps).

:G Thanks - I'll go with your suggestions on the DivX 30 frame route. Much appreciated.

Cheers!
