Well first of all, this is my first post so

Anyway, I did a ton of research before I bought my camera (thanks a lot for your help Steve) and I thought I was getting an awesome camera.

I'm having issues though, severe issues. Firstly, I get snow when I shoot videos. I know the resolution isn't DVD quality, but it is MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than Steve's sample video. There is snow visible throughout the picture.

Secondly (and related) if I am in auto shooting mode and I point the camera at a dark object, I will be able to see snow on the LCD.

I'm a little worried because these are the same types of problems that my A70 had.

Is anyone else having this problem? or is my camera a lemon???

I don't have that camera, but the first thing that came to mind was that maybe you were using a high ISO setting and the"snow" you are speaking of is actually noise from that high ISO setting.

OK well I am going to try and upload a very short clip.
I think you might be right about the ISO but I'm not sure if i can change that in video mode (unless if I change it in manual shooting mode and it uses the same setting in video mode.)

EDIT: sheesh I'm not allowed to post a movie that's 190 K's grr
If anyone knows how to change the iso in video mode let me know

Hi,

I just bought the A610 and I have not noticed any "snow" at all on my monitor. In fact I was just commenting to someone that the LCD is extremely clear.

If I use the video recorder and zoom in, it believe that it only uses digital zoom, so the image does get a bit grainy, but still pretty decent images. If I don't zoom then it is crystal clear.

I have not noticed any problem with looking at dark objects, but I will pay more attention and see what I can find.
