I am in the process of purchasing a new digital camera. I am a fairly casual user mostly point and shoot. But I like to have quality pictures and still be able to carry the camera easily. I am leaning toward the a610 as it seems to give me the best overall but I do like the size of the sd450. Any opinions, or options for cameras.

I was also looking at the A610 but I didnt want a complicated camera, so I went with the SD500 love the size and picture quality. Its nice because you dont have to worry about a button going off your settings, etc. Hope this helps.

One thing to consider is that the SD450 uses a rechargable battery. That means if you run out unexpectedly, you are out of luck unless you buy a spare. The A610 uses AAs which you can get anywhere. It also has the tilt and swivel screen and manual controls, if you ever desire to explore your creativity.
