Default What to buy? G2 or G3? All advice welcome.

After a fair bit of research into the best digital camera for my needs I have decided that the G2 would be almost perfect.

Then I looked at the G3.

A newer model, 4X optical zoom, looks smart but is more expensive.
Does anyone out there have any practical experience with the G3 and if so could you advise me whether or not (in your opinion) it's worth the extra $100 (let's say) above the G2's price?

Thanks.

Default Go for the G3

IMO you should go for the G3. recently the price has droped almost $90 so it's now a great buy. You will enjoy using the camera with so many features.

Default Blue tinge to G3's colours?????

Thanks for the advice.
I have read elsewhere though that the G3's processor tends to produce pictures with a somewhat blue-ish tinge to the colours and in some instances some CA.

Is this the case with the G3 in general or is it just bad workmen blaming their tools?

Default Both similarly the same except

Well both were 4 mega pixel, both were producing excellent image,
I've just bought my G3, after considering so many advice and take same photos using my friend's G2, than finally I dicided to buy G3,

my reasons are:
1:I can have further optical zoom (G2:3X while G3:4X)
2:I can have better battery life (much much better than G2)
3:If speed being your consideration, you may well satisfied with G3 DIGIC processor, owesome man!
4:After I try to shoot some picture with my G3 than with my friend's G2, I find that G3 produces lighter picture(although this issued is arguable), which in my opinion will help in focusing in low light condition

but......
G2 produces sharper image than G3 , although some pro out there says that actually there is nothing different G2 and G3 in this aspect..
hope this help
