Hi,

If you are in the market for rechargable NiMH batteries, perhaps you should look at the energizer 2500 mah batteries. Sorry this sounds like an advertisement.

I bought 8 2500 mah batteries with the charger for $30 total at target (as far as I can tell the charger is just on a timer, so not so great, but inexpensive at least).
The batteries are 2500 mah.

I am still on my first charge with a brand new A610 and so far I have over 600 shots and the camera is not showing any signs of slowing down. Plus I have taken numerous movie clips with the camera. BTW, ALL of the shots have been taken using the liquid crystal display screen - probably the majority with the flash on. I think the reviews state that it will do 500 shots, but I have easily passed that.

hehe...they say it takes about 4 charges/discharges to reach the full potential of the batteries...but at this rate I won't get that for a few months!!

Anyway, just thought I would share. I was concerned about buying NiMH at an online store I never heard of, but these energizers with this camera really seem amazing to me, and I could just buy them at the local target. With my older digital camera I would get 100 shots at most. This also helps me learn how to use the camera better as I can experiment more without having to worry about using up the battery. Very cool.

I hope this helps,

Hi,

Just to update: the "battery low" light finally came on the A610 screen after 705 pictures!!

I don't know how much longer they will go, but I am going to put in a fresh set since New Year's is coming up.

The charger I am using is the "compact charger":

I hope this helps.

Happy New Year!

you should get the 15min charger from energizer, its pretty expensive though. But you pay for what you get. THe charger has a fan, charges batteries individually.

Yup.. I've got the same batteries for my S2.. I got the charger that comes with a car adapter too!! I've got a total of 12 batteries.. as soon as a set is done I pop the used ones in the charger before I go to bed and throw them in my 'next' pile.

I LOVE THEM!>>>
