I just took a look a Steve's Oly C750 review samples and the A610's they look similar in quality - can you point out two specific images that show the difference? (perhaps post their URLS).

Now that I know what an C750 is - I would guess problem isn't depth of field - because you would be familiar with that.

I just got my A610 and have done quite some testing around. There is a construction site nearby and it was a good place for testing distant shooting. Here is a reduced version of one of the pictures. The building is around 200 feet away. I used some zoom for this picture. This was shot in Landscape scene mode.

Now take a look at a cropped version of the steel bars visible there. This has not been reduced or modified in any way except for cropping. They look very sharp considering JPG limitations.

A night shot taken in Program mode with the camera set in a steady place and letting the camera shoot with the timer to eliminate shake. They are all in focus. Something must be wrong in sunnyboy's case.

Hi, sorry the postings don't relate directly to the date of return to Canon it was three weeks ago that it was sent, by the way this is Australia !!!!!
