Just got an Ultra II for my A610 and did not format it prior to taking pictures which were all corrupt. THen I formatted it, but did not do a lower level format. Now it gets halfway through a format, freezes and says memory card error. When I put the card in at any point it said memory card error. My SD reader on my laptop can't even see the card. Any ideas?

One quick simple question.. Did you buy the card from a retailer or Ebay?

I just ask.. because there's been a large number of private sellers selling knockoffs that are near impossible to tell the diff of. The look EXACTLY the same. the only way to tell the diff is to see the capacity on the card itself.

I was able to fromat it once, before it stopped letting me (if only I had known to do a low level format) and it said 970MB. So I believe the capacity is right where it should be.
