I did leave on our trip with a new Cannon SD550, and I was happy that I had bought it before I left home.* The Sandisk SD cards I had with me, 5i2, standard, were adequate, but as I learned more about the camera, I understood that faster cards would permit movies and continuous shooting.* My question is this:* what are the optimal SD cards for the camera?* How fast and how large is most useful?* Can anyone answer this from experience?* My experience is minimal in this regard. Thanks,Sydore

If you are talking about the sandisk line of SD cards, the Ulta II level is fast enough to keep pace with burst shooting and movie taking in the canon SD line. The Extreme III is overkill. The regular SD is not fast enough.

What this amounts to in 10x, 80x etc I have no Idea, as many times this doesnt mean squat if its not a major company qouting it.
