Default A70 -movie mode

Hi all,
While replaying the movie (either in the camera /tv/ computer),
I observed a consistent noise like a winding motor or something.
The movie was recorded in silence. Any comments?

regards

Default Noisey movie

Since I do have a A70 I will try my best to answer your question, my 2 guesses are, either you cupped your hand over the mic when you took the movie, something like putting a seashell to your ear, or just simply the mic is very senitive & it recorded all the sounds around you. Try taking a movie again in a quieter environment & make sure you don't have your finger or hand on or near the mic.
Let us now if this works.

I double-checked the movie mode with Dave's suggestion. I kept the
camera on a table while recording the movie in absolute silence. I
still get the low background noise. I was just checking all the features. The camera is just over a month old, I may not be able to return it .
May be I should start contacting Canon.
Thanks for your comment.

I just played around with my a60 in movie mode and I do not get any background noise or anything. When I have noise, it records it without problems.

Don't see why the a60 and a70 would mics would be different... they could be *shrug*

Try it on on a another pc. If it still has this noise then take it back, it's probably faulty.
