Hi,

i was wondering if it is normal to have a cross line going through viewfinder in canon 410 powershot. The line is located in centre and seems to be inside the viewfinder, not in the lenses :? . FIrst it thought it was a stratch but it ain't. I've read that some lines are normal but the one in my camera isn't fully straight, it seems to go a bit toward right upper corner

Could somebody tell me please is this normal?

thanks

I don't have anything like that in the viewfinder of my A410. On the LCD, I enabled the lines that divide the view into thirds horizontally and vertically, but there isn't anything in the optical finder.

thanks for the reply. I went to the store where i bought mine and checked another canon 410 which has the same horinzontal line. It can be seen only when looked from a distant point to viewfinder. So i guess it is normal..

Holding the 410 almost an arm's length from my eye, I do see a fine horizontal line in the viewfinder. If I tilt the camera up or down, the way it moves implies that it's about half-way between the front and back of the viewfinder assembly. (If I put the camera to my eye, I can't see it at all.)
