Heh, my camera got delayed in shipping out, so I won't get it until tomorrow (hopefully - I hate vendors who lie about ship dates!). Anyway, by the end of the week we'll be able to compare notes on barrel distortion.

Anyhoo, just now I was reading DCRP's review of the Nikon Coolpix P3, and the author does mention it has noticeable barrelling. He even posted a pic which is reminiscent of yours, happycat.

Hey Happycat, I got my A620 a couple days ago but its been plenty of rain and wind here. Tomorrow I'm going to photo a nearby church which is a bit similar to a couple of photos you've taken.

I notice in your more recent shots the the barreling disappears as you zoom in.

I'll post a pic or 2 tomorrow.

Happycat, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post this pic; weather and other matters have conspired to keep me away.

Anyway, here's a pic of a local church, shot in Auto mode.

The tower actually does curve slightly - it was simply built that way. I was also standing on a hill while shooting this. While there is some barreling, it seems to me bit less tham yours.
