If the light stays orange, it means that it:

a) cannot focus on the subject
b) the camera is shaky
c) or even perhaps the memory card is full (though it has an audible tone for that)

Though I think the "shaky" thing is when the orange light is flashing....

If you turn the LCD on, it will tell you, well sorta, why the orange light is on. You should be able to fully press the shutter button down to take the shot. Or at least my a60 allows me to. But then the result might be either not focused, or blurry from an unsteady shot.

Looking at this post made me get my manual out again ! I think that the steady orange light means the camera is ready to record, and a blinking orange light is for camera shake. The green light comes on with computer connection and blinking green for start up and cf write etc. Flashing yellow is focus probs.
If your camera is not taking any photos it could be faulty- try reformat cf card and shooting daylight in auto mode.

I tried all that things. The problem is that the orange light remains lit :?: I think it might be that the cf card is broken. I also did a reset but i didn't work. I looks like the cf card can not register the photo. The main problem is that the orange light keeps lit. When i focus on a lamp the green light lits up but is doesn't take a picture :!:

Try another card somewhere. The orange light is meant to stay on when you hold down the shutter button halfway, it means the camera is ready to shoot. Something is going wrong after that point.

Sorry , the manual is a bit ambiguous ! Orange is ready with flash. If there's no green with bright light conditions take it back.

I also tried another card. It didn't work. The dealer thinks its a problem in the camera. Another dealer tries to fix it otherwise canon The Netherlands will make it. It is only 7 days old?!?!?! I think it is a factory fault. Thanks anyway
