I just got my Canon A620 and I have been reading and playing around with the camera. I have (2) questions at this point. My LCD only seems to work in Colors, Stitch Asst, and Custom mode. Why not Auto or manual ? (2) Is there anyway besides military time to put in the time? Thanks I'm sure I will be asking alot more as time goes by.

1. In the lower-left of the controls area near the LCD, there is a button marked "DISPLAY". If you press and hold the button in for a second or two, does the LCD come on?

2. I'm not sure about the "military time" issue - have you read the manual?

The A620 is a fine camera, and I hope you have thousands of fun photos with it! :|

Camera is so much lighter than my minolta so many symbols I have alot of reading. Your pictures of your cat are spendid. I have alot to look forward to. Thanks again for your help. P.S. I have a feeling that the "military time" you're referring to is the 24 hour time format:

20:30 = 8:30pm

08:30 = 8:30am

The USA doesn't seem to use it much for some strange reason. In any event I don't believe you canuse the am/pm format in the camera.

Katty,

I'm in Sussex County - 1/2 milefrom Lake Hopatcong. I can't wait for beautiful fall foliage time!

I looked in the manual but alsocould notfind info regarding changing the time format. I guess we're stuck with it.
