Does anyone know the largest compact flash card an Ixus 500 can take? Thanks.

Most likely 2GB.

Your model is designed to be compatible with file systems formatted as FAT16, which allows sizes up to 2GB.

Canon only tested cards through 256MB in it. So, use any card at your own risk.

I did some digging and found a few users that said 1GB cards worked fine in it. But, I didn't find any posts from anyone that's tried a 2GB card.
