my ex-s3 wont flash anymore. this means i have to throw away the camera and get a new one, or attempt to fix it myself cause as of now it's basically worthless. so i really have nothing to lose by taking it apart, but its extrememly small and i'd like all you awesome folk's advice on the matter. i see some screws i can attack, but once i open it up i have no idea what to expect. anyone know if i can take out the bulb and replace it somehow? what else should i try?
i called casio and they want, cough cough, 150 bucks to fix it....yeah, thats more than half of a new s600 (but the s600 is thicker, and i love how thin the s3 is) which is ridiculous considering anything else can break at any time and theres dust in the lcd, etc. |

Go for it. you've got nothign to lose. very educational.
flash system will have a large capacitor, xenon bulb, and electronics. be careful not to touch the capacitor, give you a nasty shock! broken xenon bulb: salvage one from a disposable cam good luck |
