I have a 750, about a year old. suddenly, it won't zoom and the Disp button and Set button don't work. It still takes and displays pictures, but I can't zoom and I can't make any adjustments or delete pics(the Set button).

I have had the dreaded Lens error in the past but it always cleared after powering down.

Any ideas short of Factory Service?

Oh dear! My EX-Z750 is just over 2 years old and still fully operational, having been heavily used until May 2007. Since then it's been a reserve camera sitting in my vehicle, and used occaionally instead of intensively.

The only suggestion I have is that the Li-ion battery may be getting on a bit, and not delivering enough current to zoom, which will be energy intensive. However, extending the lens would be similar, and it's succeeding in doing that.

It's a wonderful little camera, and the best I've owned until my present Kodak Z712is. Thta was only just over 200 ukpounds, and it won't quite go in my pocket. That is the best camera I've ever owned, out of many in the last 47 years or so.

So think carefully before spending lots of money on repairing it if you could upgrade for less.

Good luck, & please let us know how you get on.
