Hi,

I just bought Casio Z70 Digital Camera.

This is my first Digital Camera and i really dont know much about it.

... also i got SanDisk Ultra II 1.0 GB + USB.

I have a question regarding USB2.0 and Z70.
In product manual it says that this camera is USB2.0 (Full-speed) compatible.

What speed should i expect?

I have USB2.0 installed on my pc, it is working i've tested it.

For example...
I was transfering 120 mb video from my Z70 to my PC hard disk and it took me about 2 minutes to transfer the file.
I think that is slow? ... but i might be wrong!

Why i think it slow?
Since my SanDisk is +USB ( i can plug it in to any usb port ) i get much much much faster speeds.

How is that possible if digital camera and sandisk are both usb2 compatible?

Please if somebody can explain me better.

I called CASIO, but they are very slow and i need to wait up to 48hrs for a tehnician to call me back.
Thank you for your help!

that came to only 1MB/s which is very slow.

if you have a 60x sd card, it can read 9MB/s, 150x card is 22MB/s, so it should take less than 15s to transfer 120MB.

does your OS support USB2? i think you need xpsp2 for USB2.

i will try it out when i get my casio s600 next week.

Well as you can see in my first topic i explained it all.
My OS supports USB2 fully.
My SD card is 10/9 MB/s.
It works with that speeds when i insert my SD card directly to USB port, but not thru Z70.

.... means eaither Z70 doesnt support USB2.0 as they say or something is wrong ...

No - there is a third possibility.

"USB 2.0 Full-Speed" is in fact the old USB version 1 speed of 11mb/s. Of course USB version 2 supports this, too, as it is downward compatible.

You were hoping for "USB 2.0 Hi-Speed" @ 480mb/s, right?

Unfortunately, one needs to look very closely at the specs of new Casio cameras nowadays. Many have a slow USB interface and Motion JPEG instead of MPEG-4 for video. This is even true for their supposed flag ship, the EX-Z1000.

Fortunately, the EX-S770 has none of these shortcomings.
