:sad:Onthe wife's S20, the screen and the resulting pictures are circularly bright in the centre and gradually darken towards the outside. This happens on all settings and conditions etc..

I would assume this is a camera error and needs returning for repair.

Could anyone advise as to whether this is the case or as to the reason for this.

Thanks in anticipation.

Jeff

I am now going to answer my own question! :?

On contacting Casio technical department, they explained that theeffect is called vignetting and is inherent in some camera/lens designs.

On looking again at the sample pictures in Steve's review of the S20, the identical effect isapparent ina number of the pictures. My own Z4 does not suffer from the effect to the same extent and this isconfirmed in the sample pictures from the Z4.

I am probably being too finicky over this, as we have had the camera for five months and I have only just noticed it!

If anyone is interested, Casio gave methislink which explains it all.
