As I understand they plan to release it on April. When is a review for this planned?

I am very interested in the optics of this camera, as 7 Mega Pixels is no joke, and IMHO requires very good optics. Is the lens different from smc pentax available in EX-Z55? What about optics in EX-Z57? Looks to me that EX-Z57 does not bring too much compared to EX-Z55, but EX-Z750 has:

- manual settings
- higher resolution (which can be bad if lenses cannot keep up)
- updated video mode
- continous shooting mode
- movie scenes

I'd be interested in seeing how this camera compares to the Canon PowerShot SD500/Ixus 700. The Casio camera seems to be feature-packed. The most information I've found so far on these cameras is from digitalcamerainfo.com:

Well, I played with one today... I noticed few nice things. However, the apperture values in manual modes are just two: 2.8 and 4. No other apperture values.

Hm, still better than nothing (the Canon has no manual aperature controls as far as I can see)... Did you get any feeling of the quality of stills and video? The Canon camera appears to have zoom while recording video but I don't think the Casio camera has that...

No, it does not have. It is hard to judge the quality from the LCD only. However the LCD resolution appears to be better than my EX-Z55's and quality too. I have not played much with the video.

big_ipaq,

Since you seem to have access to a Z750, is there any chance you could post a picture or two taken by the camera? There are no example photos out on the web yet. I would really like to see what kind of image quality to expect. This camera could be a real winner if Casio put in good optics without screwing up the CCD/Firmware.

I do not have access to one. I had played with it during the CeBIT 2005 tradeshow in Hannover, Germany. I could have inserted I guess my SD card and shot some pictures but no real test, as this was indoors and lightning conditions were not very good.

I'm sure you've taken a couple of shots and reviewed it on the lcd. Did those pictures had the same problems as p700 did? meaning: extreme noise (at lowest iso), softening noise-reduction.

Yes indeed. I was comparing the shots with my EX-Z55 and they were better as seen on LCD. And even if I currently own and use intensely a Canon EOS 20D I am very happy with my Casio EX-Z55 when used keeping its limitations in mind.
