I just had a look atat a sample video clip for this camera:

http://www.exilim.jp/ex_p505/images/...y/CIMG0030.AVI

(7 mb download is not bad for a 13-sec file)

I have downloaded and played video clips from most of the cameras on Steve's web site and I have to say that this quality blows the competition away! Even when played at full screen (1024 by 768)the quailtyissharpat normal 18-24 inch viewing distance from my 17-inch monitor.

Link is taken from this Japanese page which includes other sample images:

You've probably already seen it, but samples are supposed to be coming soon on the same site on this page:

Thanks for this. I had been trying to use http://babelfish.altavista.com/to translate the Japanese to English, but it certainly didn't do a good job and, of course, did not recognize all the Japanese text that was superimposed on graphics. BTW, for the benefit of any Canadian reading, I was just talking to Casio Canada and the first shipment of Ex P-505 cameras is enroute to Canada to unknown destinations. MSP $649 (Can) is a bit steep. Hope some stores sell the camerasfor a bit less than this.

I've been comparing the 750 and the 505 and am beginning now, like yourself, to favor the 750. It has a MSRP offifty bucks less at $449. Also it has thefocus-assist light, larger viewfinder, optical viewfinder, 7.2 MP compared with 5 MP, andgreater compactness so that you canhave it with you alwaysin your shirt pocket. The EX-505 has a somewhat longer optical zoom and stereo sound for movies, as well as optional add-on lenses.I'm not sure that the rotatableLCD, without a separateoptical viewfinder, isreally a plus in the long term.Moving electrical cotactsmay be prone torapid wearout or the hingeitself, beingfrequently used, may be prone to breakage, leading to an expensive repair job. I don't knowhowmuch better the stereo sound without separation of microphones, is going tobe I've got my doubts if I'll ever be paying $100 plus for accessory lenses. It's likely with the 7.2 MP sensor that the movie clips will be even sharper with the 750than with the 505, if that's possible. Icontinue tobe a bitof a skepticabout the sample video clip on Casio's web site until I view some impartial reports:

One wonders how much expert time and money the company may have spent optimizing the lighting conditions, etc., creating hundredsof clips and selecting the one thatlooks the best that the givencamera can achieve.

EX-Z750 video is now on their website:

They look pretty good. Maybe not quite as good as the P505 but close enough!

Thanks for posting. I'm impressed that theypublished four different video examples. I think the videoquality is probably just as good as the one posted earlier forthe P-505. Of course, the sound is mono. It would be nice to compare clips with audioofsomeone giving aspeech orsome kind ofmusic presentation with the two cameras. I know with the sample of the kids blowing the whistles for the P-505 you can definitely hear the whistles coming from opposite speakers. I don't know why the b/w 4450 clip (Best Shot - Silent) appears to be speeded up with faster than natural movements. The same seems to be true to some extent for the flowing water in the fountain. Of course, it is possible that the movements/flowingare really that fast, though I doubt it.
