can anyone tell me what the differences are. apart from the design of the camera thank you

only the size of the lcd!
------
50 = 2"
55 = 2,5"
57 = 2,7"

And I think the Z55 has a better Chip for interpoliration off the Bayer (RAW) Data

Mostly the LCD size as the previous poster stated. It is also worth noting that the EX-Z57 with the 2.7-inch LCD has -no- optical viewfinder, there wasn't room for it!

Just a note: I have the z55 and I never use the optical viewfinder. The battery on this cam is so good, I never worry about the LCD being on all the time. Plus it's much easier to line up shots (you can evensuperimpose a grid), check white balance, histogram, etc. HTH
