I have already done the test you suggest.

The page of one newspaper , tele at max and snaps at 7 and 5 Mp , cropped 1/8. enlarged at 15x20 (6"x8").

At this point ,I enlarged and printed at 15x20 cm (6"x8") in two different way.

The first way was to leave as it is , the second was to use the Software called Shortcut that should allow to enlarge in very high % perentage without loose the quality.

If you interested to see the results I can send you the 4 JPG for judging if you have a broad band as the 4 jpg are 2,21 Mb, 1,72 Mb, 567 Kb and 920 Kb.

I would be interested to see the pictures, but you did not say what your thinking is. Can you still not see any difference?

Regards,

For the benefit of all, Cesare sent me the files he produced but did not tell me which one was which.

I was able to determine correctly the 7 megapixel files. There was more detail than the 5 megapixel. However, it was not such a dramatic difference as we might have expected.

Perhaps this is because the lens restricts the ability for the sensor to resolve the extra detail, or just that we are starting to get to a level of detail that is not neccessary except for A3 or even larger prints.

I still believe the Z750 is an excellent camera for the money and at least we can show that there is something extra in the detail for the 7megapixels.
