Z500 vs. S500

153,000 pixels vs. 84,960 LCD resolution
500 shots vs 200 shots per charge
motion JPEG vs. MPEG4
Z500 has an integrated zoom button like the canons (which i like better)
112g vs 115g

Z500 is slightly cheaper than S500

I copy the above from some where,... what's the different between motion JPeg and MPEG4? Which is better?

The Z is not available in North America at this time. Also the Z is .8 thick as compaired to .6 for the S. For me that is too think/bulky to carry in my pocket every day (which is why I bought the M1 and now the s100)

Does the S500 use the pentax lense if you know?

No the S500 uses a special ceramic lens that Casio and some other company make. I'm not really sure the details on the other company, but its not a pentax. It's the same lens as the EX-S100

I posted a review of my EX-S500 and have been updating some of the pictures. I've had requests for photos showing evening capability. I posted some good examples of evening shots and a movie. Also I have a shot showing the range of settings and their effects.

I've had many great responses from people who've read my review. I hope you find it helpful too!

Give it a read and see what you think.

From Steve's review, second page:

"This is an all-glass, multicoated lens constructed of 6 elements in 5 groups with a maximum aperture of F2.7-F5.2."
