My brother, upon my recommendation, bought a EX Z750 for his trip abroad. He has good luck with it for a few days, but now he is having strange problems.

Here is how outside/daylight pictures are turning out:

Indoor pics (and ones with flash) come out fine:

Couple of questions:

1) Is there a setting he might have accidentally set that is causing this problem - he tried resetting the camera to default settings to no avail.

2) Is there a way to fix the photos that he already has taken?

3) If this is a camera issues - would casio replace this camera in europe if he bought it here?

thanks a lot for your help!

I think your brother's Z750 must have a faulty CCD, as is the case with mine after a month of its purchase. No resettingworked. My camera's pictures appeared overexposed/washed out. I have tried resetting etc. It's pictures even appeared less sharp than my previous Sony P72. I gave it back to the Casio service centre. I was told it would take more than a few days to get repaired/replaced. I am waiting for its return.

If the flash pictures are good I would guess the CCD is OK.

There are several things I can think of that might give a picture like the first one. Accidentally putting it in manual mode and not adjusting the settings correctly or having the EV at +2 – especially in some of the scene modes.

With the camera reset and the EV at zero, if it is still taking washed out pictures in snapshot mode it likely has to be returned for service. The metering is way off.

There is nothing that can be done for pictures like the first one if you want a regular color shot of the scene.

thanks for the feedback. looks like a faulty camera - hopefully he can return it at costco without any problem.
