I received my Z750 yesterday and have fully charged the battery. However, each time I turn it on it bleeps twice and prompts me to enter Language, Date/Time etc.

While it's still on it seems to work OK (just tried snapshots so far), but when powered off and then on again, it needs setting-up again. Have I missed something obvious?

I've tried with and without SD card and even using the photo button when it's on the cradle - same problem.

Firmware: 1.0.1

I'd be grateful for any comments and advice.

Regards,

Andy

You have to set/select the language, time, date etc when prompted to do so. Otherwise each time you start up the camera, it will prompt you to. I think you have to press the "set" button for the camera to accept the info. Did you do that?

That's just what I've been doing: setting it all up when I'm prompted just after switch-on. I then switch-off, switch-on and it's all reset and I get prompted again.

I've even tried setting it all again by going into the Menu - still get the problem. Mind you when I've set it all up yet again via the Menu it pops the lens out first on switch-on and then bleeps and prompts, whereas otherwise it prompts and doesn't extend the lens until I've finished.

Confused!

Andy

More info.

I've discovered it will not retain any setting I make, e.g. default is NTSC - set PAL - power cycle, and it's back to NTSC.

Seems to me it ain't operator problem, but camera problem

Andy

I set mine about 10 months ago and it is still set. You might want to call Casio support and have them sort it out for you. I don't know of a camera setting that would cause it to drop the date/time when you turn it off.
