I just started setting up the camera, and got the MEMORY IS FULL message after taking two practice shots. After erasing the shots, I can still only take two shots before I get that error message.

TIA

BTW I tried to format and reformat the camera, and that doesn't help.

Welcome onboard,

that is normal as the cam itself has <9MB internal memory sufficent for 2 images at 7MP... and Casio does not bargain You with some 16MB card as some other brands- so go and get a 1 or 2 GB fast card according to Your possibilities and enjoy happy shooting :-)

Best, JR

Have you bought a memory card? What size? Maybe the camera isn't seeing the card for some reason and it is trying to put 5Mb images into a 9Mb internal memory. You would be lucky to get two full sized best quality images in the internal memory.

When you turn the camera on you should get a number in the upper right corner if you use the full information display. That is the total number of photos you can take with the current memory and settings.

The internal memory will hold a large number of images for your permanent photo album because they are not full sized. It will also hold custom user modes. But it won't hold many regular photos.
