Basically have released two, check out the casio site for more info, heres the gist below.

Differences between the Two Versions

EX-Z850 Ver.1.10

• SDHC memory card support

* The field of view angle or image quality of this version is the same as the previous firmware version.
EX-Z850 Ver.1.1B

• SDHC memory card support

• Better HQ Mode movie quality (less digital noise, smoother lines) than the previous firmware version

• Approximately 40% narrower field of view angle than the previous firmware version for HQ Mode movies

Normal Mode or LP Mode movies of this version are the same as the previous firmware version.
Important!

• The name of the file created when Version 1.10 is extracted is the same as the file created when Version 1.1B is extracted (EX-Z850.BIN). Do not extract both versions inside the same folder.

• You can switch between Version 1.10 and Version 1.1B a many times as you like .

Does any one can do a movie with the 850 with the new firmware???

Is it now the same quality of movie that the 750?

Thanks so much

The normal quality mode is the same as before. The high quality mode is now equal to the 750 but MUCH better in low light than the 750. However, as was said in the post above yours, the field of view has been narrowed 40%. It's like being zoomed in about 1.4X. If you can live with that and don't need to use the normal quality mode, you'll be happy with it. I own both cameras and thats how i know this. The firmware fix was apparently only fixable by narrowing the FOV. Unfortunate but at least now it's usable.

I can't since i am on dialup. but just go to the dpreview casio forum and there are postes there right now where someone uploaded a bunch of the new firmware videos.Look for posts by "ChiSoxFan" and you'll find links to download his videos. I think he has a few different threads so look for the one that has a link to the full sized original videos.....

all the video comparison here:

http://randsco.com/index.php/2006/05...video_problems

i own the 850 and i am very happy that now the video is perfect. having it zoomed of 1x it's not a big problem. now i can really use the buildin light in night videos without much noisy.
pity i have still the 10 minutes limitation.
