Ive read that you can buy adapters, but what exactly do I need to buy to get better macro shots with my Canon S3.

Here is a macro I took last week, I would like to get closer to its head

Your camera is it one the the lens comes out from the front , if so the extender is just a tube that screws on the front of the lens you then need to buy a set of hoyts +lens

+4 +2 +1

you can then use them singular or all at once +4 +2 +1 in that order.

Well, canonmonkey, it looks like Narmer knows what he's talking about. I've been considering getting something like that for my Canon S2 IS. BTW, your efforts without an extension tube look pretty good.
