My first attempt at a Macro shot with my new Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. Constructive criticism is welcome and of course other comments. Thanks....

Nice capture, bokeh, DOF. What made you chose the Canon 100 macro?

Thanks for your comment.....I chose the Canon 100mm because it was in between the 180 and 50mm ones. I figured that the 50 is putting you to close to the subject and I couldn't afford the 180mm. :D

was that fade to black an effect when you took the picture? it's a great shot, def worth a print!

The only effect was created by the DOF of the lens being used. This was pretty much straight out of the camera with side light from a window and slight levels adjustments in PSE 5.
