The pictures were taken with a Sony DT 18-55mm SAM II kit lens on a Sony SLT-A58 camera in an orchid outlet shop at Half Moon Bay.

Lovely pictures!

I get good results for my monitor display from the 18-55mm kit lens on my Pentax K110D which gives best resolution at f/5.6. I wonder what f/stop your lens was at, WCKSer - just for curiosity and education :).

Thanks for the kind comments!

Pic#1 and 4 = f/5
pic#2 and 5 = f/4

Thanks ever so, WCKSer and I shouldn't think from the quality of your pics that you are 'suffering' any as what this comment from another website claims...

"The Sony DT 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II is better than the older version of the lens, but it still suffers compared to other 18-55mm kit zooms".

It's just as well I'm not a pixel-peeper!

Best wishes from Scoot.

This kit lens is not bad and it can focus pretty close. There are trade-offs when a kit lens is used but it is light and good for traveling light. I am pretty happy with this lens with the Sony SLT-A58. I am taking this camera combo to my next China trip in March.
