here is one of the 80 pictures i took in two days....enjoy

taken around 11:00 at night with an 8 second exposure, and flashing a LED flashlight on it for a fraction of a second and the bg was lit by a porch light (incadescent)

notice the WB here

i'm not loving how the flower to the right is in the picture too...but i didn't want to pick it just for a picture.....they aren't my flowers

The heck with the flower on the right! You did a great job, thinking out the lighting extemely well. If you ever have another situation where you want to move a flower, just get your foot up against the base of its stem andand lean itout of the picture.

i own 1 flashlight..and it's an LED light i got at walmart a couple days ago....well....my dad has one that i've used for some pictures....

glad you like the shot! the lighting idea was stolen(lol...not really stolen...) from dale....

I agree with all the above. . .a very nifty picture. I'd expect for 8 seconds for there to be a lot of noise. Very slick. Gotta get one of those lights. GJ

Suzan, when you shop for an LED flashlight, pay attention to the color of the lens. I had a choice between the one I bought and one that had three extra lenses in different colors. Wish I'd bought the latter since the one I bought has a clear lens and the light it throws is VERY blue.

Vito, which one did you get?

i got the one with the different lenses....i'm not remembering a distinct reason though...lol..i think it might have been cheaper or something...lol

it works..

i'm not sure if it has a blue-ish purple-ish tint...or if we are just so used to that orange-yellowish tinted incadescent lights!

It's definitely blue, Vito. I know because some of the photos with the red necklace on white cloth were done with the LED. There was no missing the blue on white. One of these days, I'm hitting the craft store for colored cellophane to use as filters. No point in buying a second LED.

yeah i was thinking the same thing.....in my "paddle picture" i tinted it red and yellow to take out the blue stripe that is on the outside of the brightest spot of the light...

If you ever have another situation where you want to move a flower, just get your foot up against the base of its stem andand lean itout of the picture.
