I am just now starting to use my Canon 100mm Macro lens. Actually, I have used it much more as a telephoto (outstanding quality - about 30 previous images) than I have as a macro (about 10 - 15 prior shots). I took a shot of an entire blossom in RAW mode, and thought that it worked faily well. Here is a link to see the whole image: http://www.pbase.com/image/31277497/large

I didn't actually realize how sharp this macro was, until I cropped the pistil/stamen/pollen area and created a separate image from that crop. This is what the crop shows:

WOW! No kidding! Thats super close!

I love the intense orange!

And the blurring of the background made a very nice effect!
