well, it's closer than i'd want to get to this fella in the wild!!

got this shot from the Seattle zoo last weekend. considering it was shot through none-too-clean, angled glass, i thought it came out rather well... cropped maybe 30%. 40D, 400mm, 1/250 @ f/10.

Well I didn't expect THIS big fella to appear in this forum (I was thinking a spider's eyes might be here).

But yes, you certainly got up close! And seeing those blades of grass in your composition too, I think it qualifies as a "close up".

Well done. Nice and sharp... and he looks menacing... even when not staring at the camera.
