Wonderful close up. Yes it´s a great picture, very detailed but foremost with a very good composition and an effective, natural looking bokeh.

Hebe flower - never heard the name. Do you know the name in latin?

Thanks! Actually I was surprised that I managed to get a more or less sharp picture because it was difficult to keep the camera still, but the C2100UZ image stabilisation system usually works very well indeed.

I'm not sure which Hebe this one is, but I think it may be Hebe buxifolia. According to our gardening book, Hebes belong to a category of plants called Scrophulariaceae.

I think most Hebes are native to New Zealand. There's a very interesting web site about Hebes with descriptions of a large number of varieties of them here -
