Default Poor Things

Out for a walk on one of the last warm days of autumn, I scrambled down to the old farm road next my house. It hasn't been used in years and is only recognizable as a road if you're told that's what it is. Shuffling along through the leaves, I came across this lonely old toy that lost its child years ago:

Camera off, about to go back inside, I had to hurry through turning the camera back on and setting it correctly for another old thing, a moth that shouldn't really be alive anymore, one whose wings show its advanced age and all it's been through in its hard little life:

A most poignant outing with my camera today.
