cenote I can appreciate your troubles I tried to catch an ant , and damn them things are fast when you are in macro and up close. I love the color on this . what are you using equipment wise , and how close. thanks

I am using an FZ30 and was about 2 inches away

Well done. These little beetles are incredibly quick and do small leaping flights at the slightest movment.

You might spend some time watching one from a distance; they are voracious predators, and often can be approached while busy with a meal.
