I've never really used my macro mode on the sigma lens, but below are two shots I took in macro mode and longer exposure.

I think I can easily say the exposure is 3 sec and 2 sec on the first and second respectively.

you got it right :) exposure was set to 3 and 2. Mirror lock up helps big time shooting at macro level with a tripod lol.... a good thing for me to upgrade my 300D with the wasia firmware.
