walking along a sculpture outdoor exhibition, I've seen that rose. Unfortunately I did not manage to make a better shot. Do you think there was some potential or am I fooling myself?

Sometimes there's nothing you can do. There's not much detail on the rose and the angle isn't the best. Also, the foreground is really distracting. If you were really aiming for a macro shot of the rose, try to isolate it and use a different angle. The nice thing about macro shots is that they are generally reproducible. You can always go back to a rose and try again. Best of luck
