The Night-bloomiing Cereus is a member of the Cactus Family that resembles nothing more than a dead bush most of the year. But for one midsummer's night each year, its exqusitely scented flower opens as night falls, then closes forever with the first rays of the morning sun. All plants bloom within a few days. Pics taken at the Tohono Chul Park in Tucson, AZ with Fujifilm Finpix s9100.

This was my first attempt at shooting images in complete darkness with a flash; C&C welcome. I think if I do more night shooting I might need to invest in an external flash.

Those are beautiful; welcome to the forum and please post more! The cereus is a great subject for time lapse photography--maybe next year.

Lovely photos; and for #3, the word "exquisite" comes to mind.

#3 is my fevorite too.Very artistic.About the rest , I feel direct flash gives a brunt out and flattening effect,IMHO.

Thanks for looking and the comments. I had a lot of fun taking these and there were a lot of people at this event, I was kind of surprised.
