1) A rose from my front yard. Taken with the 50mm f1.8

2) Agapanthus from my father's backyard. Taken with the 400mm f5.6 and a Kenko extension tube 36mm.

3) Another shot of Agapanthus that has not opened yet. 50mm f1.8 plus extension tube.

3) Gazania. 400mm f5.6 plus extension tube.

4) An unopened flower bud. I think it's from my morning glory vines. Taken with the 50mm f1.8 plus extension tube.

Thanks for looking.

I like them all, but the unopened flower bud (your #4) is by far my favorite.

Very nice shots! Hard to pick a favorite, as they are all so pleasing.

Those of us who reside in the P&S ultrazoom world (in my case, Fuji S6000fd) like to shoot macros with the long end of the zoom, when possible. Helps with the DOF.

It makes sense to me that you could do so well at 400mm.

I'm partial to the rose, though the bud is interesting as well. Don't see why it wouldn't be possible to use a 400mm lens for close-ups, especially with an extension tube.
