Default Jumping SPider and FLy - Ode to Ward :)

Ward, if you see this you will know what I am talking about....he had a fantastic spider and worm shot a while back.

This little fellow was lunching on a fly when I caught him.
D30, 100mm macro, 20mm ext and +5 Hoya.

Default Ewww.... but excellent shot!

Fantastic shot of the spider and the fly Robert... gives me the creeps though, lol. I love your 'member' photo of the little blonde boy holding the starfish, too. Is he yours? Is there some place I can see a larger version of that? A beautiful boy and a beautiful, interesting shot.

Default Thanks Rich and Willa...

Ummm...Willa, the blond kid is me, about 35 years ago.

But I do have a blonde 2-year old that reminds me of myself

Cheers.

If my wife sees this she might spray the screen down with Raid, or smash it in with a newspaper. Really nice shot, and super close detail.

Robert - I believe that your photo is a bit better than mine, but your jumping spider certainly looks like a first counsin. Excellent image.

Great macro Robert. You really got the focus on his eyes and whiskers.

Holy Cow, what a great shot!

Did you really combine the 100mm macro and the extension tube and the +5 diopters of closeup lens? What was the focusing distance from the business end of the lens? Did you use natural light?
