Taken with a Nikon 105 macro. This is my best so far. I have to keep a steadier hand. Using a tripod for a close up of a moving creature seems impractical. Any suggestions?

Very nice atempt Caryl. Macro photography of fast moving insects like bees takes the patients of a saint. If you're not going to use a tripod then I would suggest you crank up the ISO on that lovely D300 so you can get a faster shutter. You could easily go 1600+ and not loose a thing.

Good luck,

Steve

Thank you Freddy and Steve. I shall give the higher ISO a try.
